THE WAY IS THROUGH FOUNDER

DAWN FORETICH, LMHC

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here — you’ve already done the hard part: taking the first step. I’m a licensed mental health counselor and art therapist in Florida, practicing since 2008.

My style? Warm, holistic, and strengths-based. Think of me as your therapeutic co-pilot — here to help you navigate life transitions, grief, trauma, or those days when your brain feels like a browser with 37 tabs open.

Before becoming a therapist, I studied Fine Art Photography. The love of creating art and the healing arts led me to earn my Master’s in Counseling and Art Therapy, where I learned to blend the healing power of art-making with other approaches like mindfulness, somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and more.

I work with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, phobias, and those walking through illness or caregiving — or just trying to make sense of life’s plot twists.

Whether experiencing a life shift or just trying to keep your head above water, I’m here to offer compassion, curiosity, and a little humor. The way is through — and I’m honored to walk alongside you.

I can help you with:

Healing doesn’t come from avoiding pain — it comes from gently facing it, with support and compassion. As poet Robert Frost once said, “The best way out is always through.” In therapy, we’ll work together to move through the hard stuff — not around it — at a pace that feels safe and empowering. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or something else; I’m here to walk that path with you.

MY APPROACH

HOLISTIC THERAPY

My approach blends talk therapy, art therapy, mindfulness practices, and somatic awareness.

Sessions often start with grounding exercises like mindful breathing—because sometimes the best way to quiet the mind is to actually listen to the body. I’ll gently guide you to notice physical sensations, helping you access the deep wisdom your body already holds.

Through talk therapy, you’ll explore your thoughts and emotions. And when words get stuck, art therapy steps in to give those feelings a brushstroke or two of expression.

By weaving together these approaches, my aim is to help you build self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience—like your own internal toolkit for life’s messier moments.

I’m all about collaboration and curiosity, empowering you with insight into the mind-body connection, and creating a safe, supportive space where growth (and the occasional awkward laugh) is not just allowed—it’s encouraged.

  • I really enjoy sessions with Dawn. It took a while for me to get back into therapy after trying to fix things on my own. Dawn has been consistent, thoughtful in reaching out with tips and guidance even without a session, and really making me feel like I can fix/heal from my current and past circumstances.
